Of course the big news is Matzaka’s!!! ridiculous lack of command yet again…you could tell poor Kottaras was thinking, as he repeatedly ran to the backstop, “Hey, this expensive little Japanese fella can’t pitch any better than I can hit”…but for the 11th time in the last 17 games (almost two-thirds) the Sox failed to score more than 4 runs. And that’s been against such ordinary pitchers as Matt Palmer, Chris Jakubauskas, Jason Vargas, Brian Tallet, Mike Pelfrey, Nick Blackburn, and Kevin Slowey last night. They’re 8 and 9 over those last 17 games. And watching the games, the Sox are definitely misfiring on a lot of hittable pitchers.
P.S. Not that Poor Pap is swinging anything close to good…but with some of the outs he’s hit pretty good lately, and some of the bad strike calls he’s suffered from, I’m beginning to think that there has to some kind of supernatural conspiracy involved with this crazy thing!
