One Batter One Pitch

Although I have been primarily just writing brief commentary on the ups and downs of two Paps and The Bo-Sox, one purpose of this Blog is to help publicize my two Boston-based novels, An Informal Boston Education and One Batter One Pitch. A positive review of One Batter One Pitch from Foreword Clarion is posted below. I have engaged renowned Book Publicists Kelley and Hall (http://www.kelleyandhall.com/) of Marblehead, Mass., to see if anything can be made of One Batter One Pitch. K&H has helped numerous self-published novels become successful, as well as doing publicity work for traditional publishers. I found them through articles in the Boston Globe on Brunonia Barry and her success with The Lace Reader, and on iUniverse author Lisa Genova, and her novel Still Alice. The Boston area, and Cape Cod, are featured throughout my books, so of course it helps that K&H is based in the Boston area. A News Release prepared by K&H is posted below.

· Recommended Books on Writing
* How to Write and Sell Your First Novel by Oscar Collier
* On Writing by Stephen King (Includes an interesting brief biography, and is very worthwhile even if you don’t plan to try writing yourself)
* On Writing by George V. Higgins (George was first--surprising that Mr. King, with all the great stuff he's written, couldn't think up his own title.)
* The Right to Write by Julia Cameron

· The iUniverse Experience
*Production—excellent, including the outstanding responsiveness and competence of the ‘PSA’s' (Production Support Assistants) and a very efficient process for making corrections.
*Editorial Evaluations—generally quite helpful and on target.
*Content / Line Editing—expensive, with somewhat mixed results, but generally helpful, and educational.
*Marketing—$300 for Press Release, extensive Regional Media Distribution, and free promotional copies, if any of the media wants one. Seems like a good deal. I haven't used any of the other myriad marketing services that they offer. K&H, with their reputation, contacts, competencies, and Boston area base, seemed like the best possible option.
